One of the Velo guys was after a deep shell Lucas headlight for a Thruxton rebuild he was working on. This one I spotted on Ebay is the type - but the holes are in different location on the Velo. - In the past I have used these though - and have even sent one to a metal artist and had the holes moved around into the Velo spec!

Aleksey Kravchuk, back in New York, had called some time ago, asked if I could keep an eye open for a MSS/KSS frame, to build into a Mk7 KTT race bike. Shortly after, I was contacted that one of the Velo guys from California had passed away, and was there anything I wanted, or was looking for, from the estate -clearing his shed-. Turned out he had a KSS frame!
I called Alex - who sent payment - and frame was yesterday delivered to me by Dave Jorgenson, who transported it up here to Washington for me.
Then Dave , brings in a fishing tackle box , and says " this is for you" a few things I found in Ron's stuff, a gift from me - for all those Guzzi Falcone parts you gave me - years ago"
Now got to get the frame to the FedEx and off to New York! -(:o)

The shed is 75 feet long, 35 feet wide, two stories ( full attic). and was originally a holly packing shed - What is now a large lawn/ field in front, was at one time covered in holly trees. The trees were trimmed just before Christmas, and holly sent all across the US for Christmas holiday decorating -

Fastener Torque-
One of the most asked questions I get here at the shop , second to how to adjust the Velo clutch, is what to torque the engine head nuts to.
Back when Ellie Taylor had this Parts and Service business, 1975 through I believe 1977, he made up this little info sheet. I believe he said he used Machinery's Handbook to get the specs, determined by thread type, bolt/stud size, material being threaded into, etc.
Threads should be lightly lubed with a touch of oil or grease. -

Clutch info / parts specs-
Have had a lot of inquiries for clutch details -
David Childs did this excellent article years ago in Fishtail -the magazine of the Velocette Owners Club UK.
I photo copied it , enlarged to 8 1/2" by 11" and put them into plastic sheet protectors and a ring binder, and use it for reference here in my workshop. Also info on doing slotted clutch plates -
